Foundation Horsemanship Clinics are geared towards horses that are started under saddle and riders that need help on their horsemanship journey.
Clinics are typically one day and are broken down into two sessions. The morning session will be on groundwork and understanding what is taught on the ground and how it directly applies to what is done in the saddle. Working on feel, being a leader with clarity and consistency, freeing up the horses feet and teaching you how to move each part of the horse correctly. During the afternoon session we will apply what was learned on the ground and work in the saddle. The majority of the work will be done at the walk.
Clinics give the rider understanding which builds confidence and provides the horse with a respectable leader. A demonstration is given by Amy and each participant will then practice the exercise. Amy will watch, comment and give individual attention when needed.
Clinics at Allen Acres are limited to six participants. Offsite clinics are a minimum of four, and a max of eight, participants.
Cost - The cost is $150.00. A $50.00 non refundable deposit is required. The clinic starts promptly at 9am and finishes at 4pm with a one hour break for lunch.
Equipment - For the morning session equipment required is a rope halter, a 12'-14' horsemanship rope without any hardware (I can show you how to attach), horsemanship flags are optional.
For the afternoon session equipment required is a snaffle bridle, english or western saddle is your choice.
